How does ImagineWallpaper work?
Imagine Wallpaper offers a wide range of peel and stick wallpaper, traditional wallpaper, pre-pasted wallpaper and wall murals. Simply choose your favourite design, measure your space, place an order, and install it yourself or get it installed. It’s that easy!
How to Measure and Order
How do I measure my wall?
Measure the height and width of your wall in inches or centimetres. For the most accurate results, measure in multiple places as walls can vary slightly. Add an extra 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) to each dimension to account for trimming and leveling during installation.
What size should I specify when ordering wallpaper?
Let us know the exact measurements of your wall, including the extra 2-4 inches for trimming. We will automatically calculate the number of panels needed to cover your space.
Can I wallpaper my ceiling?
It's important to note that our wallpapers haven't been personally tested for ceiling application. Due to the constant force of gravity on the wallpaper's glue, we can't guarantee its longevity or performance in such conditions. Ultimately, the decision to proceed with installation rests with you.
What if the design doesn't fit my wall's measurements?
Don't worry! Our team will adjust the design to fit your wall dimensions perfectly. If any significant changes are needed, we'll contact you before production.
I made a mistake measuring my wall! What now?
Contact us as soon as possible. If your order hasn't been produced yet, we can usually adjust the measurements. If it has been shipped, we'll work with you to find the best solution.
Can I customise my wallpaper?
Yes! We welcome your customisation requests. This includes adjusting pattern sizes, modifying background colours, adjusting the wallpaper for a vertical installation, and refining specific elements.
If we don't receive any messages or customisation requests from you after the purchase, we'll reach out ourselves to confirm your preferences.
Alternatively, you can also get in touch with us directly via chat or email if you have specific customization requests or preferences to discuss.
We are here to assist you promptly, professionally and always with pleasure!
Is it better to get the exact size or order a few extra inches when buying wallpaper?
When purchasing wallpaper, we suggest adding at least 2 inches (5 cm) to both the width and height for a safety margin.
Here is why:
Having a little extra allows for some margin of error during installation. It's not uncommon to encounter obstacles like corners, outlets, or uneven surfaces that may require adjustments.
If you ever decide to rearrange your furniture or make other changes to the room, you can extend or reposition the wallpaper as needed.
Having extra material allows for proper cutting and trimming. It's better to trim away excess material than to realize you don't have enough to cover the entire space.

Product Information
What is the difference between a mural and pattern wallpaper?
A mural is a large image that covers a wall and comes in panels. Unlike wallpaper, it does not repeat patterns, creating a unique, non-repetitive design.
Wallpaper (pattern wallpaper, pattern) comes in rolls, typically with a standard width of 28 inches, and features repeating patterns or designs for a uniform look across the walls.
What types of materials do you use for wallpaper?
At Imagine Wallpaper, we offer four distinct types of wallpaper materials, each designed to meet different needs and preferences:
Polyester Peel and Stick: Self-adhesive/Removable polyester textile.
This is a durable white polyester material weighing 340g/m². It has a slight textile-like texture with a matte finish. It's perfect for those who want flexibility, as it's repositionable within 48 hours of application and requires no extra glue.
Vinyl Peel & Stick: Self-adhesive/Removable vinyl textile.
Our vinyl option is a heavier, more durable material at 370g/m². It features a canvas-like texture with a matte finish. Like the polyester version, it's repositionable within 48 hours and needs no extra adhesive. This option is highly moisture-resistant, making it ideal for areas with higher humidity.
Pre-Pasted: Non-woven pre-pasted paper.
This is a 214g/m² non-woven paper with a smooth texture and semi-glossy surface. It comes with a water-activated adhesive, making installation as simple as wetting the back of the paper before applying.
Traditional: Non-woven traditional paper.
Our lightest option at 175g/m², this non-woven paper has a smooth texture and semi-glossy surface. It requires manual application of adhesive and is best for permanent installations.
All our wallpapers are printed with water-based inks and are PVC-free, non-flammable, and moisture-resistant to varying degrees. None of our wallpapers require overlapping during installation, ensuring a smooth and seamless finish. Whether you're looking for easy application, durability, or a classic feel, we have a wallpaper material to suit your needs.
Which type of material should I select?
For DIY enthusiasts, our Peel-and-Stick option is simple to apply, no extra materials needed.
Peel-and-stick is ideal for those who like to change designs frequently; it's made of durable fabric material for easy removal and replacement.
Our Polyester P&S wallpapers, weighing 340g/sqm, offer enhanced durability and come with a matte finish, ensuring they won't be too shiny. Additionally, Polyester is renowned for its strength and resistance to wrinkles and shrinking.
If you're seeking even greater durability, our Vinyl P&S option, weighing 370g/sqm and offering even higher moisture-resistant, might be the perfect choice for you.
Professionals often opt for Traditional or Pre-pasted Wallpaper, made of paper and applied with paste or glue.
Which wallpaper is best for DIY projects?
Both Peel-and-Stick options (Polyester and Vinyl) are ideal for DIY projects, renters, and quick room makeovers.
Pre-Pasted is also good for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts.
Traditional wallpaper is best for experienced users or professional installation.
Will Self-Adhesive (P&S) products damage my wall?
No, our Self Adhesive products are designed to not leave any residue or cause paint damage. However, we cannot guarantee the condition and quality of your painted wall surface, so some paint flecking may occur. If this happens, minor paint touch-ups may be necessary. When you are ready to remove your wallpaper, be sure to peel it off slowly and carefully.
What's the width of each wallpaper roll?
Our standard wallpaper rolls are 28 inches (71.12 cm) wide. Custom widths are available for some products – check the specific product details or contact us for more information.
How many panels will my mural have?
Usually, the panels are up to 28 inches (71.12 cm) in width. The width depends on each order separately, as we cut the order in equal-length panels and the panel count is based on the total mural size.
Is Peel-and-Stick wallpaper the better option for a rental flat?
Yes, and here is why:
Peel-and-Stick wallpaper and mural is known for its simple installation process. It doesn't require any paste or additional adhesives, making it a renter-friendly choice.
Moreover, it can be removed without causing damage to the walls, making it easy to revert the space to its original condition when you move out.
Since Peel-and-Stick wallpaper is not a permanent alteration to the wall, it allows you to personalise your space without violating rental agreements.
You can apply Peel-and-Stick wallpaper on your own without the need for professional installation.
Is wallpaper paste included?
Paste is not included with our wallpapers. For peel and stick and pre-pasted wallpaper, no additional adhesive is needed. For traditional wallpapers, we recommend purchasing a high-quality wallpaper paste suitable for your specific wall type.
How durable are your wallpapers?
Our wallpapers are designed for durability. The grammage (weight) of each type indicates its strength:
Vinyl Peel & Stick: 370 g/m²
Polyester Peel and Stick: 340 g/m²
Pre-Pasted: 214 g/m²
Traditional: 175 g/m²
The Vinyl Peel & Stick option is particularly durable and moisture-resistant.
Is the surface glossy or matte?
The finish varies by wallpaper type:
- Vinyl Peel & Stick: Matte
- Polyester Peel and Stick: Matte
- Pre-Pasted: Semi-glossy
- Traditional: Semi-glossy
Are your wallpapers fire-resistant?
Yes, all our wallpapers meet fire safety standards:
Peel and Stick: B1 / M1 fire rating
Traditional: B1 fire rating
Pre-Pasted: B1 fire rating
What kind of ink do you use?
We use eco-friendly inks across all our products: Eco-solvent type with ISO certificate for safe indoor use.
How to Prepare and Install
On which surfaces can I apply my murals and wallpapers?
We strongly recommend smooth, clean wall surfaces for installation. If your wall is textured, uneven, or newly painted, please refer to the next FAQ.
Can I apply wallpaper on a textured wall?
Applying wallpaper to a textured wall is feasible, but we must emphasise that proper preparation is crucial for a successful outcome.
For textured walls we recommend Vinyl Peel-and-Stick wallpaper as it's thick.
We do recommend trying the sample first as a preliminary test.
Below, you'll find a guide with instructions on how to prepare your wall.
1. Clean the Walls:
• Use a sponge and mild detergent to wash the walls and remove any dust, grease, or dirt.
• Rinse the walls with clean water to remove any soap residue.
• Allow the walls to dry completely.
2. Repair and Sand:
• Fill any holes or cracks with spackling compound and let it dry.
• Sand the repaired areas and any rough spots to ensure a smooth surface.
• Wipe down the walls with a damp cloth to remove any sanding dust.
3. Apply Primer:
• Pour the primer into a paint tray.
• Use a paint roller to apply the primer to the walls. Start at the top of the wall and work your way down in smooth, even strokes.
• Make sure to cover the entire surface, including the edges and corners. You might need to use a brush for hard-to-reach areas.
• Apply a second coat if necessary, following the manufacturer’s instructions for drying time between coats.
4. Allow to Dry:
• Let the primer dry completely according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This is usually a few hours, but it can vary.
5. Inspect the Surface:
• Once the primer is dry, check the walls for any missed spots or uneven areas. Apply additional primer if needed.
Tips:
• Choose a primer that is specifically formulated for wallpaper. This will provide the best adhesion and durability.
• Ensure the room is well-ventilated while applying primer.
• Follow all safety instructions on the primer label, including using protective gear if recommended.
How do I install each type of wallpaper?
Installation methods vary by wallpaper type:
Peel and Stick: No paste needed - works like a big sticker. Can be repositioned within 48 hours
Pre-Pasted: Just add water - works like a postage stamp.
Traditional: Requires special glue/paste (sold separately)
Can I use your wallpapers in high-moisture areas?
The Vinyl Peel & Stick option is more moisture-resistant, making it suitable for areas with higher humidity.
However, for bathrooms or areas with direct water contact, please consult our customer service for specific recommendations.
Help! My wallpaper pattern doesn't line up. What should I do?
Don't worry! Aligning patterns can be tricky, but with a little patience and these tips, you'll achieve a seamless look:
No overlapping needed: Our wallpaper is designed for edge-to-edge installation without overlaps. Make sure you're butting the edges together, not overlapping them.
Check your cutting: Ensure you're cutting the panels accurately. Even a slight angle can throw off the pattern match.
Start level: Use a level to make sure your first panel is perfectly straight. This sets the foundation for all subsequent panels.
Take it slow: Align the top of each new panel carefully before adhering the rest. It's easier to adjust at the beginning.
Look for match points: Most patterns have specific points that should align. Focus on these when hanging each new panel.
Consider the walls: Sometimes, walls aren't perfectly straight. You might need to make small adjustments as you go.
Get a helping hand: An extra set of eyes and hands can make a big difference. Don't hesitate to ask a friend for help!
Lighting matters: Good lighting can help you spot misalignments more easily. Use a bright, portable light if needed.
If you're still having trouble after trying these tips, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support. We're here to help ensure you get the perfect finish!
